Vampire Book Films | Ranker Tier List

Vampires have terrified people for as long as their legends have lived and in this day and age we see them in every media outlet. In this post, we’re ranking films based on vampire books and will rank them based on the writing and performances. We’re using our 5-to-1 rating system, 5 being the best and 1 being the worst. Note: This ranker will be update accordingly.

5-Star Ranking – Best of the Best

Rating: 5 out of 5.
  • Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) – Count Dracula comes to England and must be stopped by solicitor Jonathan Harker and Professor Abraham Van Helsing.
  • Interview with the Vampire (1994) – In present-day, a vampire named Louis tells his story to a San Francisco reporter.

4-Star Ranking – Top 10 Worthy

Rating: 4 out of 5.
  • Let the Right One In (2008) – The story of a bullied 12-year-old boy, Oskar, who develops a friendship with a vampire child, Eli.
  • Let Me In (2010) – The story of a bullied 12-year-old schoolboy, Owen, who develops a friendship with a vampire child, Abby.
  • The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) – Edward leaves Bella after an attack that nearly claimed her life, and, in her depression, she falls into yet another difficult relationship – this time with her close friend, Jacob Black.

3-Star Ranking – Good Entertainment

Rating: 3 out of 5.
  • I Am Legend (2007) – Robert Neville struggles to find a cure for a virus that has wiped out most of mankind and turning the rest into nocturnal monsters.
  • Queen of the Damned (2002) – The vampire Lestat becomes a rock star who music wakes up the beautiful and monstrous queen of all vampires.
  • John Carpenter’s Vampires (1998) – The film centers on vampire hunter Jack Crow and his efforts to prevent a centuries-old cross from falling into the hands of master vampire Jan Valek.
  • The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) – As a string of mysterious killings grips Seattle, Bella, who high school graduation is approaching, is forced to choose between her love for vampire Edward and her friendship with werewolf Jacob.

2-Star Ranking – Could’ve Been Better

Rating: 2 out of 5.
  • Twilight (2008) – The story of a teenage girl, Bella Swan, who develops a relationship with a vampire, Edward Cullen.
  • Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant (2009) – Teenager Darren Shan must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque du Freak, after being turned into a vampire.
  • Vampire Academy (2014) – Dhampir Rose Hathaway and Moroi Lissa Dragomir return to the St Vladimir’s Academy boarding school, after being on the run for one year.

1-Star Ranking – Total Garbage

Rating: 1 out of 5.
  • The Lair of the White Worm (1988) – The residents of a English village are tormented by an ancient priestess after the skull of serpent that she worships.
