The Crow | Casting Choices Ep.2

Welcome to the 2nd episode of Casting Choices. Now that the rumors of a Crow reboot are confirmed, I decided to come up with a Casting Choices video of who should play the iconic character Eric Draven, originally played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 The Crow film which tells the story of Eric Draven (Lee), a rock musician who is revived from the dead to avenge his own death as well as the rape and murder of his fiancée. The film is based on James O’Barr’s 1989 comic book The Crow.

For those who think Robert Pattinson wouldn’t be a good choice you’re horribly underestimating his acting talent.  He’s come a long way from the poorly written Twilight films (New Moon is a favorite). He’s shown himself adept at diving into more serious roles and that could be a great foundation.

James Franco is definitely a great choice. He’s bounced around the acting arena tackling everything from comedies to dramas, fantasy to sci fi, good guys and bad guys.  With his background Franco could give Draven

No one can play an awesome avenger of the night than Christian Bale (well actually a lot of talented actors can but that’s besides the point). His portrayal of Batman in the Dark Knight Trilogy is more than qualified for the job. Not only can he be a brooding actor but he’s definitely a physical actor who could really dig into the fights.

Nicholas Hoult is a great actor who’s familiar with playing characters adapted from books and comic books. He’s played some great roles but it would be interesting to see him play a dark character such as Eric Draven. He’s in good shape and would do well for the physical aspect of the character and his blue eyes would give Draven an unsettling stare. He’s done some good characters and it would be great seeing him play a vengeful one.

Thanks for checking out the post and in the comment section below let us know who you think would be the ideal actor to portray the Crow.
