Could Hayden Christensen Return in Episode IX

There are a lot of rumors surrounding the upcoming Episode IX film. With all the casting choices revealed and the characters being introduced and brought back, there is a lot of speculation as to who should be in the film. Episode IX has teased the possible reveal of Rey’s parentage and some set leaks of a Knights of Ren appearance.

The film picks up with the remnants of the Resistance facing off with the First Order once again—while reckoning with the past and their own inner turmoil. Meanwhile, a millennia-long struggle between the Jedi (of which Rey is the last member) and the Sith reaches its climax—altogether bringing the Skywalker saga to a definitive end.

JJ Abrams is on record stating that the film will tie all three Star Wars trilogies together, especially with the films focusing on the Skywalkers. Hayden Christensen played Anakin Skywalker in the 2002 Attack of the Clones and 2005 Revenge of the Sith. The prequels have had a large amount of criticism, including Christensen has had criticisms leveled against his acting.

During the ending of the first Episode IX trailer, we were given a small tease that the Emperor could potentially be in the film. Now, Star Wars has brought back characters who’ve been killed off both on the light side of the Force and the dark side, so why not have the Emperor return. But if the Emperor can return why not have Anakin return. The films have focused primarily on the Skywalkers so an Anakin Force ghost would make sense, especially if it’s a redemption arc for Kylo.
