If you’re a book freak like me, you’re definitely going like this post. We’re going to put all of those reading experience to good use. Since I like writing lists, ranking stuff, and keeping records, I decided to come up with a book awards.

The book awards will only consist of media I’ve personally read, watched, or listened to). They will consist of fiction, nonfiction, novels, novellas, anthologies, comics, web comics, graphic novels, manga, series, young adult, audiobooks, etc.

What are our categories?

Best Book – This category is featured to the best read of the year. Regular books aren’t the only things to be considered.

Worst Book – This category goes to the worst book, or at least one that’s pretty bad. There are some good books but there are some bad ones too, and this goes out to the worst one.

Best Author – This category goes to the author with the best story, setup, and writing. This category includes not only book authors but also poets, comic book and manga writers. This won’t include screen writers as they are a part of the movie awards.

Artist – This category goes to the artist with the best illustrations. This not only applies to manga and comics but also picture books.

Best Villain – This category goes to the most interesting, most memorable, most awesome bad guy. This goes to villains and not antagonists.

Best Hero – This category goes to the most awesome and well written hero. We mean hero not protagonist. A hero is a real person or a main character of a literary work who, in the face of danger, combats adversity through feats of ingenuity, bravery or strength. A protagonist is the leading character or one of the major characters in a story.

Best Story/Plot – This category goes to the most well-written and most engaging story.

Action – This category is devoted to the story with the best action.

Narrator – This category goes to the narrator of an audiobook. Smooth, clear, and concise, with distinction of the characters.

Best Female – This category goes to the most awesome female character.

Best Male – This category goes to the most awesome male character.

Best Manga – This category goes to the best manga issue or series.

Best Comic – This category goes to the best comic issue, series, or graphic novels.

Audiobook – This category features the best audiobook in terms of story, narration, and production quality.

Sci Fi – This category features the best science fiction story.

Fantasy – This category goes out to the best fantasy novel.

Suspense/Thriller – This category goes out to the best thriller.

Horror – This category focuses on the scariest book.

Best Cover – This category features the book, manga, or comic with the best cover.

Best Unique World = This category goes to the story with the most unique world and setting.

Best Cast – This category goes to the story with the best cast of characters.

Adventure – This category is for the story with the coolest adventure.

Best Supporting Character – Not all protagonists are interesting and sometimes it takes a supporting character to keep things interesting. This category goes out to that character.

Best Zombie – Zombies are a thing now so of course I’m going to add a category for it. The best book to feature legions of the undead.

Best Young Adult – This category goes to the best young adult book.
