Poison Ivy | Casting Choices

Coming at you guys with another casting choice post and in this one, we’re taking a look at the DC super villainess Poison Ivy, one of Batman’s most enduring enemies and belongs to the collective of adversaries that make up Batman’s rogues gallery.

Poison Ivy’s real name is Pamela Lillian Isley, she’s a botanist obsessed with plants, ecological extinction, and environmentalism. One of the world’s most notorious eco-terrorists, she uses plant toxins and mind-controlling pheromones for her criminal activities, which are usually aimed at protecting endangered species and the natural environment.  She has periodically been depicted as an antiheroine, often doing the wrong things for the right reasons.

Kristen Bell

I like Kristen Bell.  Ever since my introduction to her in the show Heroes where she played a mentally unstable agent of the Company with electrical abilities.  But she isn’t limited to just a killer.  She’s played romance and comedy as well.  With her cold attitude as Elle, it’s easy to see her play someone who cares little for human life.  However, I’ve never seen her play sexy so it would be a great to see her play a sexy villain.  She’s certainly beautiful enough.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain got picked up on my radar in 2016’s The Huntsman: Winter’s War.  And for all the problems that were in that film, she was one of the great highlights.  She’s beautiful, a capable actress, and definitely has the chops to play one of DC Comic‘s most iconic villainesses.  I can honestly see her in the role of the incarnation from Batman: The Animated Series.

Gemma Arterton

I like Gemma Arterton.  I think she’s a fantastic actress with a wide range of ability.  I think she can balance out the sex appeal of the character while making her feel like grounded.  Was really impressed with her performance in the 2012 Byzantium film and I can honestly see some of that performance influencing her take on the character.

Jane Levy

Jane Levy could bring a much younger, more enthusiastic Pamela Isley to the screen.  She’s done plenty of horror roles as well as dramatic and comedy so her performance could draw from experience.  She could probably pull off the incarnation of the character from The Batman series.
