Finally, we’re getting some news concerning the upcoming sequel to the 2020 comic book movie, The Old Guard. It’s already been confirmed that Uma Thurman will join the cast. Now actor Henry Golding will be joining the cast of The Old Guard 2.

Golding gained international recognition from his performance in the highly praised 2018 Crazy Rich Asians. He played the titular character Snake Eyes in the 2021 film adaptation. He’s also played alongside Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in the 2018 film A Simple Favor and as Dry Eye in the 2019 The Gentlemen.

The Old Guard is a graphic novel created by writer Greg Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez. The story of The Old Guard follows a group of immortals lead by Andromache of Scythia – ‘Andy’ – as they fight injustices while trying to keep their immortality a secret.

Netflix produced a live-action film in 2020 which was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood starring Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, all who will be returning for the upcoming sequel. There has yet to be a release date announced but it’s probably safe to say that the film will be out in 2023.
