HBO Max Series ‘Raised by Wolves’ Cancelled After Two Seasons

Another fantastic show has been cancelled but not necessarily for the reasons you think. Raised by Wolves was first released in 2020 on the HBO Max streaming service. The science fiction series was created by Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Aaron Guzikowski, and follows a pair of androids raising human children on an alien world. The series has had its second season released in 2022.

Since the show’s debut, it’s been critically acclaimed for its great performances, thoughtful story, expansive world, interesting characters, and beautiful visuals. Its storytelling is also a point of acclaim as it manages to mix human drama, science fiction elements, and religious undertones to create an immersive, entertaining viewing experience.

Unfortunately, despite the success and acclaim of the series, HBO Max released a statement confirming that a third season would not be made. This follows closely behind the Discovery and WarnerMedia merger, which saw a lot of changes to its projects, one of the most prominent being ceasing production of many of TNT and TBS shows. It’s quite possible that the show just happens to be a casualty of ‘house cleaning’.

But the show isn’t dead it. There’s a chance that the show could be picked up by another streaming service. This is the case for many shows such as Lucifer, which ran three seasons on Fox before moving to Netflix, The Expanse, which ran on Syfy before moving to Amazon Prime, and Supergirl, which ran on CBS before moving to CW.
