America isn’t the only country to have superheroes. Japan has its share of superheroes as well. This is a list of series that I’ve watched and are considered superheroes in my opinion.

(1) Sailor Moon (1992-1997)

The series follows the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into Sailor Moon to search for a magical artifact, the “Legendary Silver Crystal”. She leads a group of comrades, the Sailor Soldiers, called Sailor Guardians in later editions, as they battle against villains to prevent the theft of the Silver Crystal and the destruction of the Solar System.

(2) My Hero Academia (2016-current)

The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers in a world where they have become commonplace, but who still dreams of becoming a superhero himself. He is scouted by All Might, Japan’s greatest hero, who chooses Midoriya as his successor after recognizing his potential, and helps to enroll him in a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.

(3) One-Punch Man (2012-current)

It tells the story of Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch but seeks to find a worthy opponent after growing bored by a lack of challenge due to his overwhelming strength.

(4) Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor (2005-2006)

Sho and his friend Tetsurou stumble upon an odd alien artifact while walking through the woods. Then, the alien artifact breaks free of its metallic bonds and enters Sho’s body, turning him into the Guyver. With this new power, Sho must do battle with the evil Chronos corporation and their genetically enhanced Zoanoids, who seek to get the Guyver back into their labs.

(5) Tiger & Bunny (2011)

The series was mainly created by producer Masayuki Ozaki who wanted to create a drama an audience that changed during production to appeal to several demographics by using several kinds of superheroes and balance the bond between the unconvential lead Kotetsu and the more traditional Barnary working together.
