Welcome to another of our top ten post and in this entry we’re taking a look of some of our favorite tv shows concerning vampires.

[1] Van Helsing

Van Helsing is set in a post-apocalyptic near future. Vanessa Van Helsing, a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing, awakens from a coma after her supposed death to find herself in a post-apocalyptic world, three years after an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera had blanketed the world in ash, blocking out sunlight and allowing vampires to overrun humanity.

[2] Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The series narrative follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as “Vampire Slayers”, or simply “Slayers”. In the story, Slayers, or the “Chosen Ones”, are chosen by fate to battle against vampires, demons and other forces of darkness.

[3] Being Human (UK Version)

The series follows Annie Sawyer (a ghost), George Sands (a werewolf), and John Mitchell (a vampire) – all of whom are sharing accommodation and attempting as well as they can to live a “normal” life and blend in with the ordinary humans around them, striving to fit in more.

[4] True Blood

The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress living in the fictional rural town of Bon Temps, Louisiana. Sookie’s world is turned upside down when she falls in love with 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), and for the first time, she must navigate the trials and terrors of intimacy and relationships.

[5] From Dusk till Dawn: The Series

A Texas Ranger is in hot pursuit of the infamous Gecko brothers and their hostages. They all end up trapped in a desert bar secretly run by vampires and discover a vampire conspiracy.

[7] What We Do in the Shadows

The series follows three traditional vampires, Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja; Colin Robinson, an energy vampire; and Guillermo, Nandor’s familiar. The series revolves around the centuries-old vampires interacting with the modern world and other supernatural beings.

[8] Trinity Blood

Set 900 years after an apocalyptic war between humans and vampires, the series focuses on the ongoing cold war between the Vatican, the human government, and the “New Human Empire”, the government of the vampiric Methuselah.

The plot concerns a writer who returns to his hometown and discovers that its citizens are turning into vampires.

[10] The Strain

The show centers around Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the CDC’s New York-based Canary Project, who is called upon to investigate an airplane landing wherein everyone aboard is dead. What his team discovers is a viral outbreak that has similarities to an ancient strain of vampirism. The virus begins to spread and Goodweather works with his team and a group of the city’s residents to wage a war to save humanity.
