Top 10 Netflix Original Shows of 2018

Netflix has been doing its thing, not only has it changed the face of how we watch TV but also opening audiences to material they probably otherwise wouldn’t have watched. Every year it brings new original movies and TV series both live action and animation (unfortunately it does cancel shows that are actually pretty good). Now we can enjoy binge watching entire seasons instead of the weekly episodes (although it does have its place). We’re taking a look at the best shows of 2018.

1) The Haunting of Hill House (Season 1)

Flashing between past and present, a fractured family confronts haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it.

2) The Dragon Prince (Season 1)

Two human princes forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands.

3) BoJack Horseman (Season 5)

The series follows a washed-up star of a 1990s sitcom, an anthropomorphic horse named BoJack Horseman, who plans his return to celebrity relevance with an autobiography to be written by ghostwriter Diane Nguyen while struggling with depression and addiction.

4) Daredevil (Season 3)

Follows Matt Murdock / Daredevil, a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. When Wilson Fisk is released from prison, Murdock must decide between hiding from the world or embracing his life as a hero vigilante.

5) F is for Family (Season 3)

The show follows a dysfunctional suburban Irish-American family, and is set in the fictional town of Rustvale, Pennsylvania in the early-to-mid 1970s.

6) Devilman Crybaby (Season 1)

Follows Akira Fudo and his friend Ryo Asuka as they face an ancient race of demons that seek to destroy humanity. Believing the only way to defeat the demons is to obtain their powers, Ryo proposes that Akira unite with a demon; in doing so Akira transforms into the titular Devilman, gaining the powers of a demon but retaining the soul of a human.

7) Luke Cage (Season 2)

Season two follows Cage who becomes a hero and a celebrity in Harlem after clearing his name, only to face a new threat.

8) The Santa Clarita Diet (Season 2)

The series centers on husband and wife real estate team Joel and Sheila Hammond whose normal, mundane lives change dramatically when Sheila shows symptoms of having become a zombie. The bewildered family seek a cure for her condition while dealing with its consequences, such as Sheila’s new craving of human flesh and radically altered personality that has become more primal and impulsive.

9) Disenchantment (Season 1 – Part 1)

Set in the medieval fantasy kingdom of Dreamland, the series follows the story of Bean, a rebellious and alcoholic princess, her naïve elf companion Elfo, and her destructive “personal demon” Luci.

10) Hi Score Girl (Season 1)

The story revolves around the life of gamer Haruo Yaguchi, the coin-op gaming setting (most notably Fighting games), the changes that develop within both over time, and his relationship with quiet female gamer Akira Ono.
