Top 20 Anime of All Time

Welcome to another amazing post and in this post we’re taking a look at some of my favorite anime series.

[ 1] Afro Samurai

It follows the life of Afro Samurai who witnessed his father Rokutaro (owner of the No. 1 headband) being killed by a male gunslinger named Justice (owner of the No. 2 headband) while he was a child. As an adult, Afro sets off to kill Justice and avenge his father.


[2] Attack on Titan

Set in a world where humanity lives in cities surrounded by enormous walls protecting the humans from gigantic humanoids that are referred to as titans. The titans vary in height and endlessly eat humans seemingly without reason. The story initially centers on Eren Yeager and his childhood friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, who join the military to fight the titans after their hometown is invaded and a titan eats Eren’s mother, whom he swears to avenge.


[3] The Big O

The story takes place forty years after a mysterious occurrence causes the residents of Paradigm City to lose their memories. The series follows Roger Smith, Paradigm City’s top Negotiator. He provides this “much needed service” with the help of a robot named R. Dorothy Wayneright and his butler Norman Burg. When the need arises, Roger calls upon Big O, a giant relic from the city’s past.


[4] Bleach

Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper â€” a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper â€” from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife.


5. Naruto

Tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who searches for recognition from his peers and the village and also dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.


[6] Yu Yu Hakusho

The series tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while attempting to save a child’s life. After Yusuke is revived and appointed the title of “Underworld Detective”, he must investigate various cases involving demons and apparitions in the human world.


[7] Kill la Kill

It follows vagrant schoolgirl Ryuko Matoi on her search for her father’s killer, which brings her into violent conflict with Satsuki Kiryuin, the iron-willed student council president of Honnouji Academy, and her mother’s fashion empire.


[8] Lupin the 3rd

Arsène Lupin III is the grandson of world-famous thief Arsène Lupin, and he’s living up to his grandfather’s memory as a high-profile thief himself. Due to his infamy, Lupin III attracts the attention of the persistent Inspector Zenigata of the ICPO, as well as rival criminals and even the femme fatale Fujiko Mine, who Lupin III can never tell is working with or against him.


[9] Crayon Shin-Chan

Set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, the show follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke “Shin” Nohara and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbors, and friends.


[10] Fairy Tail

The story follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, a wizard who is a member of the popular wizards’ guild Fairy Tail, as he searches for the dragon Igneel.


[11] Cardcaptor Sakura

The story focuses on Sakura Kinomoto, an elementary school student who discovers magical powers after accidentally freeing a set of magical cards; she must retrieve the cards to prevent catastrophe.


[12] Sailor Moon

The series follows the adventures of a schoolgirl named Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into Sailor Moon to search for a magical artifact, the “Legendary Silver Crystal” as she leads a diverse group of comrades, the Sailor Soldiers as they battle against villains to prevent the theft of the Silver Crystal and the destruction of the Solar System.


[13] Fullmetal Alchemist

The series follows the adventures of brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who are searching for the Philosopher’s Stone so they can regain the bodies they lost in a failed attempt to bring their dead mother back to life.


[14] Death Note

The series centers around Light Yagami, a high school student who stumbles across a mysterious otherworldly notebook: the “Death Note”, which grants its user the power to kill anyone whose name and face he knows.  And subsequent attempts to use the Death Note to change the world into a utopian society without crime and the subsequent efforts of L, a reclusive international criminal profiler, to apprehend him and end his reign of terror.


[15] Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne

Rin Asogi runs a private investigation agency in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, performing odd jobs ranging from finding lost pets to hunting rare stamps in order to get by. Yet despite attempts at a normal life, she finds herself constantly hindered by the strange cases that come her way, figures from her dark past, and her inability to die.


[16] DragonBall Super

Dragon Ball Super follows the adventures of Goku and his friends after defeating Majin Buu and bringing peace to Earth once again. Goku encounters beings far more powerful and attains the power of a god. He defends the Earth against the powerful destructive deities and travels to other universes to face more powerful opponents as well as nearly unstoppable foes, while learning his newly discovered powers under the gods of the universe.


[17] Tiger & Bunny

Set in a futuristic city where heroes fight crime whilst promoting real life sponsors, focusing on two superheroes, the old-fashioned Kotetsu T. “Wild Tiger” Kaburagi and the rookie hero Barnaby “Bunny” Brooks Jr., as they are forced by their employers to work together.


[18] Paranoia Agent

The infamous Shounen Bat (Lil’ Slugger) is terrorizing the residents of Musashino City. Flying around on his rollerblades and beating people down with a golden baseball bat, the assailant seems impossible to catch—much less understand. As Shounen Bat continues his relentless assault on the town, detectives Keiichi Ikari and Mitsuhiro Maniwa begin to investigate the identity of the attacker. Will the two detectives be able to unravel the truth behind Shounen Bat, or will the paranoia get to them first?


[19] Monster Rancher

The story follows 11-year-old Genki Sakura who is pulled into a world of virtual monsters, where he must battle the forces of evil.


[20] One-Punch Man

Tells the story of Saitama, an extremely overpowered superhero who has grown bored by the absence of challenge in his fight against evil and seeks to find a worthy opponent.
