Dave Bautista is one of few wrestlers who’ve transitioned from wrestling to acting successfully.  He’s done some good work and it would be a sin not to mention his performance as Drax the Destroyer from the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  But honestly, who else could the physically imposing actor play.  Here’s another casting call post where we’re exploring other roles Bautista could play.

Bane is one of Batman’s most endearing enemies; not only one of his physically imposing but one of his smartest.  We’ve already seen two live action versions, the horrible one in Batman & Robin and Tom Hardy’s awesome version in the 2012 The Dark Knight Rises.  Bautista has the physical imposing look of the character and definitely can have the commanding presence.  Of all his performances, his portrayal of Mr. Hinx is what has convinced me that despite not much dialogue, Bautista could be a devil onscreen.

Marcus Fenix is the main protagonist of the Gears of War series and one of Microsoft’s mascots.  A live action Marcus could be very difficult given how important and popular of a character he is.  Tough, resilient, and not big on words, Marcus has led Delta Squad and the COG to victory time and time again against the Locust Horde.  What makes this casting choice ideal is that Dave Bautista looks like the guy and usually portrays similar roles.  Not only that, he’s actually expressed interest in playing the role.  I’m sure the fans of the franchise would gladly accept him as such an iconic role.

Despite the failure of the Green Lantern film and all the hooha surrounding the DCEU, there’s still something to be said about the Green Lantern mythos.  That being said, with the upcoming Green Lantern Corps film a few years away, would’ve it be delicious if the Green Lanterns would do battle with the Red Lanterns, led by the awesome Atrocitus.  Bautista would definitely be a good Atrocitus.  He’s known for playing brutal, hardcore characters and Atrocitus wouldn’t be too far out of his range.  Not to mention his role as Alsdar in Smallville, where he played a violent, superpowered, bone marrow eating alien who nearly killed Clark.  Suit him up in red, make him spit up fiery blood, and we have a great Atrocitus.

Bautista would definitely be a great al’Lan Mandragoran, you know, the most badass Warder in the Wheel of Time series.  Lan has presence, is a physically imposing, and is the bravest or the brave. Among all the great characters of the Wheel of Time, Lan is one of the ones I really want to see in a live action series, television or film.  It would be pretty cool to see Bautista in a medieval fantasy series.  I can honestly see him swinging a broad sword taking out Trollocs and Myrddraal with abandon.  Lan deserves a strong actor, and with Bautista putting some films into his filmography I think that he’s able to tap into who the character of Lan is.
