With the confirmation of the sequel to the 2017 successful Wonder Woman the internet got the reveal of who the villain is for the upcoming sequel.  Barbara Ann Minerva as the Cheetah, one of Diana’s longest running rivals, who will be played by Kristen Wiig.  But what other information surrounds this movie?

Patty Jenkins is confirmed to return as director as well as Gal Gadot returning as the iconic character.  With the success of the first film, it is a given that Jenkins will be a great fit to return.  Goeff Johns and Dave Callaham will be on the scene writing the film’s script.

We have information regarding the story and a major time jump.  The first Wonder Woman was set in 1918 at the end of World War I and the sequel will be set in the 80’s and will focus on the end of the Cold War, so we can hope for a lot of spy and espionage.  The Germans were the baddies and in the first movie, now it will be the Russians.  The film will also be more focused on Diana and the United States.

There have been news of who will be in the film.  Pedro Pascal has been cast and is said to play a key role in the story.  For those who don’t know Pascal, he is best known for portraying Oberyn Martell in the HBO series Game of Thrones and Javier Pena in Narcos.  There have also been talks about having the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, having an cameo. Carter played Wonder Woman in the series from 1975 to 1979.  None of the cast of the first film will be returning but we do see the potential to see Connie Nielsen return as Queen Hippolyta.

Wonder Woman 2 is set to be released on November 1, 2019.
