E3 is nearly here and the internet is ready for news on upcoming projects.  There has been a lot of chatter going on and Gears of War is on the list of possible upcoming projects.  Will Gears of War 5 finally be announced?

What is Gears of War?

The series focuses protagonist Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments, in the conflict between humanity and the subterranean reptilian hominids known as the Locust Horde, and their mutated counterparts, the Lambent & the Swarm.   So far, the series consist of five third-person shooter games, comics and several novels created by Epic Games and developed by The Coalition.

Gears of War 4‘s Failure

The line of how good GOW4 is is pretty hard to determined.  There is a lot great about the game.  There are a lot of great elements introduced to the story, the combat is as great as ever, the multiplayer is fantastic, but the campaign suffered a lot.  There wasn’t enough story and a total lack of familiar faces rubbed many fans the wrong way (me included).

What Should Gears of War 5 Have

Some things that should be in the next game should be a deeper story. GOW4 tiptoed on some interesting elements including the Swarm and the implication of Reyna as Queen Myrrah’s granddaughter.  Will we see a united COG and Outsider front against the Swarm?  Hopefully, many of these unanswered questions will get answered.
