With the upcoming E3 on the horizon, the internet is a buzz with possible reveals.  Some of these reveals have opened the possibility of three upcoming GOW games.

What is Gears of War?

The series focuses protagonist Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments, in the conflict between humanity and the subterranean reptilian hominids known as the Locust Horde, and their mutated counterparts, the Lambent & the Swarm.  The story of the Gears have been one of Xbox’s exclusives that has been a hallmark of the console.  The series was created by Epic Games, developed by The Coalition, and owned by Microsoft Studios.

Gears of War RTS

I’ve always said that GOW would benefit from an RTS game.  As a war series, both sides of the conflict have their specific units, unique weapons, vehicles, and technologies.  Halo was able to successfully make a great RTS in the form of Halo Wars, which definitely shows that a franchise can change the formula and still be good.
