There are a lot of rumors circling the internet and hopefully the upcoming E3 will put some of those rumors to rest.  Gears of War is a highly successful video game franchise and hopefully rumors of a Battle Royale installment will be addressed.

What is Gears of War?

One of Microsoft’s most impressive and long running franchises GOW is the creation of Epic Games and The Coalition.  The series focuses protagonist Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments, in the conflict between humanity and the subterranean reptilian hominids known as the Locust Horde, and their mutated counterparts, the Lambent & the Swarm.  The series has four main installments (1-4) and a prequel (Judgment).

Battle Royale Gaming

Battle Royale games are becoming more popular since the introduction of the highly successful Fortnite Battle Royale and Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds.  The upcoming Black Ops 4 game will take this formula as the core game.

Gears of War Battle Royale Game

GOW is no stranger to online multiplayer and in fact, has some of the best online multiplayer in gaming. Along with the series’ traditional online multiplayer (which is always awesome) GOW2 introduced us to Horde Mode, GOW3 introduced us to Beast Mode, and Judgment introduced us to OverRun.  With all the characters, the variety of weapons, the different skins and outfits it’s easy to see how this game would work as a Battle Royale.  Now, the question is will the game be a free-to-play game or a $60 game with hopefully all the content.
