Naruto is a 1999 adventure, comedy, martial arts, fantasy Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.  The series follows a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja named Naruto Uzumaki who leaves in Konohagakure village as an outcast. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him not only to some great new friends, but also some deadly foes. Volume 1 begins with exposition on twins, Megumu and Mitsuru Kobayashi, each with vastly different personalities and hobbies, Megumu an otaku and Mitsuru “manly”.
