Set in the fictional, plague-ridden industrial city of Dunwall, Dishonored follows the story of Corvo Attano, bodyguard to the Empress of the Isles. He is framed for her murder and forced to become an assassin, seeking revenge on those who conspired against him.  The game does have some pretty interesting characters.

10. Daud

Daud, renowned as the “Knife of Dunwall”, is the leader of a group of assassins known as the Whalers that operate in Dunwall. Despite being the assassin responsible for killing the Empress Jessamine and being a complete dick, Daud does show a redeeming side when he saves Emily from the threat of Delilah.

9. Granny Rags/Vera Moray

Formerly a wealthy aristocrat living in the high reaches of society who, after an ill-fated expedition to the Pandyssian Continent, became a practitioner of black magic and descended into madness.  An old woman who lives alone in her home in the middle of the plagued city.  Despite being really nice she is creepy, somewhat loopy, and blind.

8. Piero Joplin

Piero Joplin is a natural philosopher, an inventor and a member of the Loyalist Conspiracy who resides above the workshop at the Hound Pits Pub. Piero may be creepy and a dick at times but the guy is a genius.

7. Samuel Beechworth

The pilot of the riverboat Amaranth, boatman for the Loyalist Conspiracy, and Corvo Attano’s source of transportation. He’s a pretty cool dude, offering some interesting insight to Corvo. Samuel might not be the best friend but he is a good ally (when you’re not killing people by the masses).

6. Lizzie Stride

Elizabeth “Lizzy” Stride is the leader of the Dead Eels gang. She’s as tough as they come. She freakin filed her teeth.

5. Delilah Copperspoon

What makes Delilah so interesting? She started from the bottom and rose to power becoming a powerful witch.  And not only does she have a plan but it’s actually a good plan. Look who made it to my best witches in video games list.

4. Treavor Pendleton

One of the leaders of the Loyalist Conspiracy, an aristocrat assists the efforts of the Conspiracy, and the younger brother of the twin lords, Custis and Morgan Pendleton. Sure, he’s an asshole but for the most part he has a pretty cool, level headed attitude.  Dude, even gave up his brothers for the cause.

3. The Outsider

The Outsider is a mysterious supernatural being said to be part-devil, part-angel, and is morally ambiguous, neither good nor evil, usually appearing to people of interest.  The mysterious being who helps Corvo through his mythical journey.  He’s got that Dorian Gray look about him.

2. Emily Kaldwin

The rightful heir to the throne of the Isles and Empress Jessamine Kaldwin’s only child. Emily is great; she’s fun, she’s likable.

 1. Corvo Attano

The main protagonist of Dishonored, Royal Protector, framed for the murder of the Empress.  Although a silent protagonist his actions have greatly shaped the world of Dunwall.
