EXCLUSIVE: A Black Cat and Silver Sable Spin-Off Film Could Be In The Works

Now, everyone knows who Black Cat is.  Her real name is Felicia Hardy, she’s one of Spider-Man’s love interests next to Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy, a burglar who plays more of an anti-hero, and Marvel’s equivalent of DC Comics‘ Catwoman.  Who the hell is Silver Sable, again?  She is a mercenary who runs a company that hunts war criminals and about the only thing significant she’s been in that I’ve seen is one or two episodes of Spider-Man: The Animated Series and a small role in the video game Ultimate Spider-Man. So this is a grand opportunity for this character to be pushed to the fore front.  She was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz.

Felicia Hardy has had a brief cameo on the big screen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, played by Felicity Jones.  Despite all of the Marvel films there has yet to be a glimpse of Silver Sable, nor even a mention.  So far neither of the two characters have been cast nor has the film had a director picked out.  While, both characters exist in Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, Spider-Man will not make an appearance.  It is unclear if this movie will tie in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe nor the newly confirmed Venom spin-off.

The movie will be written at Sony by Chris Yost who wrote Thor: Ragnarok.  The film will be produced by Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal, who are now working to line up a director as well as a release date.
