Sony Confirms Gran Turismo Series in the Works

With Sony stepping into the theatrical arena, and with the buildup of hype into video game adaptions, the company has chosen another of their IPs to adapt to a tv show. They’ve already confirmed a God of War series in development at Amazon and a Horizon: Zero Dawn series by Netflix. The next is Gran Turismo, which hasn’t found it’s streaming service yet.

Gran Turismo is a series of racing games that emulate the appearance and performance of real-world vehicles. The series started in 1997 being released for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation Portable. There are seven main entries in the series.

But Sony has many things coming down the pipeline. In cinema they’ve been hitting the big screens with Spider-Man films. Now in the tv space, they’ve already got The Last of Us series in the works, along with a Ghost of Tsushima adaptation.

It is not clear how the series will be told. Will it be told similar to the Need for Speed film, or more like the Fast and Furious films?
