Uma Thurman Joins Old Guard 2 Cast

With the confirmation of a sequel to the 2020 The Old Guard it was only a matter of time before we started learning who would be joining the cast. Legendary actress Uma Thurman will be joining the cast for the upcoming sequel. This comes in conjunction with Henry Golding also joining the cast.

The Old Guard was streamed on Netflix becoming one of Netflix’s top movies at the time. This time around, Prince-Bythewood has stepped down from directing the sequel but will remains a producer. The film will be directed by Victoria Mahoney with Rucka returning as writer. Netflix has yet to announce a release date.

Created by Eisner-winning writer Greg Rucka and critically acclaimed artist Leandro Fernandez, the graphic novel of The Old Guard follows a group of immortals led by Andromache of Scythia – ‘Andy’ – as they fight injustices while trying to keep their immortality a secret. A live-action film was released in 2020 directed by Gina-Prince-Bythewood starring Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Thurman began her acting career in 1987 with her role as Laura in Kiss Daddy Goodnight. However, she gained recognition with her performance in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 Pulp Fiction as Mia Wallace. She has grown quite an extensive movie career with some acting credits in television as well. Some of her works include Batman & Robin (1997), The Avengers (1998), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), and of course, the Kill Bill films which is her most recognizable role to date. At the moment, it’s unclear what her role will be, but the film can only benefit from her awesome presence.
