The universe is big and within it are a lot of worlds and endless possibilities. Naturally there’d be games that will explore it. Which ones are good and which ones are bad?
[1] Halo 2
2004/Xbox/PC/Xbox 360/Xbox One/Xbox Series X/S
Halo 2’s one of those sequels that surpasses its predecessors and every way. Not only has the gameplay been improved but the story is deep and engaging. And not to mention that multiplayer, which is still fire til this day.

[2] Alien: Isolation
2014/PC/Xbox 360/Xbox One/PlayStation 3/PlayStation 4/Linus/ OS X/Nintendo Switch
In space no one can hear you scream. And in Alien: Isolation it’s quite true. A true stealth game and the best alien game that’s ever come out, the game features a dark atmosphere, engaging story, and a great sound design.

[3] Borderlands 2
2012/PC/PlayStation 3/PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita/Xbox 360/Xbox One/OS X/Android/Nintendo Switch/Linus
Players are on the planet Pandora where they hunt for relics in ancient, alien vaults while fighting corporations, violent psychos, and the wildlife. It’s a great setting with even better characters.
[4] Star Fox 64
1997/Nintendo 64/iQue Player
Star Fox 64 basically set the stage for games set in outer space. Although the controls were simple, the game was responsive with memorable boss battles, fun gameplay, and an interesting cast of characters.
[5] Halo 4
2012/PC/Xbox One/Xbox 360/Xbox Series X/S
A great entry into the Halo franchise, the story picks up with Cortana and the Master Chief who end up having to stop the Didact, a forerunner with ambitions to wipe out humanity. A beautiful developed game with great voice performances, gameplay, and a moving story that explores the relationship between the two leads.
[6] Dead Space
2008/Xbox 360/PlayStation 3/PC
Dead Space is another game where players have to deal with horror in space. Players control a engineer who must fight for survival against the growing threat of the Necromorphs. Definitely a game with a lot of atmosphere and tension.
[7] Warframe
2013/PC/Nintendo Switch/Xbox One/PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X/S
If there is one thing that can be said it should be that Warframe is unique. It’s been said that it’s basically ninjas in space and I tend to agree. Visually a spectacle, challenging gameplay, and fun multiplayer makes this a win.
[8] The Outer Worlds
2019/PC/PS4/Xbox One/Nintendo Switch
Obsidian did it again with the Outer Worlds. Not as deep as Fallout: New Vegas, the game is still fun with its gameplay and colorful environments. I really enjoy the companion and their side stories.
[9] Star Wars: Battlefront II
2005/PlayStation 2/PlayStation Portable/Xbox/PC
Hand’s down one of the best Star Wars games. A ton of fun missions where players control various factions in familiar settings. And the multiplayer is God’s gift to mankind. Just a fun game all around.
Also featured in:
[10] Outer Wilds
2019/PC/PS4/Xbox One
Not only does this game feature a unique story but it’s setting is deep. Exploring the various worlds is immersive due to the variety of worlds, the unique mechanics, and the Groundhog’s Day effect that the story centers on.
