It’s been official stated by CW that Wallis Day will take over the role of Kate Kane after Ruby Rose’s departure from the series. Ruby Rose portrayed the character in the first season of Batwoman which was released in 2019. There are a lot of rumors concerning Rose’s departure and it hasn’t been officially stated why.

Since Rose’s departure, Javicia Leslie has become the main lead as Ryan Wilder, who takes up the mantle of Batwoman after Kane. Season two has been heavily focused on the various characters searching for Kate who had been believed dead after a plane crash only to be revealed to have survived. In the most recent episode, the character was revealed alive wearing bandages due to her injuries.

Initially the character was going to be killed off. Wallis Day will appear as Kate in the second half of Season two although Ryan will continue to lead the series. It’s been stated that the Kate’s return will explore where she’s been and how her experiences have affected her. Day has appeared in shows like Krypton, Will, The Royals, Hollyoaks, Jekyll & Hyde, and Shield 5. Batwoman has been confirmed for a third season.
