Top 10 DC Extended Universe Characters With Edge

DC Comics has definitely created some great characters and the movies have definitely brought those characters to life.  This post will not include any characters from of the tv shows (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, etc.) and will include main cast, supporting cast, superheroes, and supervillains.

10. Killer Croc (Suicide Squad)

Killer Croc is one of the most standout characters not only because of his great makeup and prosthetics but despite his murderous lifestyle he was actually a pretty likable character.  He was also pretty humorous which helped show him as a personality rather than a uncontrollable killer. The character was portrayed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

9. Steve Trevor (Wonder Woman)

Never really cared for Steve Trevor in any other incarnation but I’m a huge Chris Pine fan and he does a fantastic job as the character.  He’s this American spy that accidentally comes to Themyscira and allies himself with Diana to stop the war.  He’s a valiant hero, that can be charming and is totally badass.

8. Alfred J. Pennyworth (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice)

If there was anyone as important as Batman (and the Joker of course) there’s his butler, friend, and ally Alfred.  No incarnation of the character is as awesome as Irons’ portrayal.  He has many of the Alfred traits that we know and love plus some really cool ones.  Such as remotely piloting Batman’s vehicles and kicking ass.  Jeremy Irons has always been a favorite and he totally nails the character.

7. Cyborg (Justice League)

Yes, the decision to make Cyborg completely CGI wasn’t a good idea, but that does make Cyborg a bad character.  In fact, he was one of my favorites.  He’s a good guy with the world at his feet who got dealt a bad hand and has a second chance as this super advance…cyborg.  I like his personality as well.  Ray Fisher does a great job with the character and I hope to see him in future DCEU films.

6. Diablo (Suicide Squad)

If there was a character with depth it was definitely Diablo.  Despite the actions and intentions of the other characters, Diablo is perhaps the most well rounded, most remorseful of the bunch.  He’s great as he does bring a certain level of humanity to the group.  And I really like his character design.  Portrayed by: Jay Hernandez

5. Aquaman (Justice League)

All who thought Aquaman wouldn’t translate well to the big screen can go to hell.  Jason Momoa completely killed the role.  He made the character completely badass.  His portrayal was gave the character a ton of edge while keeping him humorous.  The way he used his abilities was the best ever seen.  And honestly, like Henry Cavill, Momoa is physically imposing.  Can’t wait to see his upcoming movie.

4. Martha Kent (Man of Steel)

Who says to make this list you have to have superpowers. Martha is a great character who brings as much emotional connection to Clark as Lois.  She has some great moments in which she reminds him and us that Superman doesn’t have to help humanity and that he’s only obligated to live his life.  Which makes his decision to be that symbol of Hope all the more important. She’s portrayed by Diane Lane.

3. Flash (Justice League)

Flash has always been a favorite.  He’s got a great personality, great humor, and awesome abilities.  The film does a great job of establishing a great character with a lot of fun moments.  Ezra Miller is impressive as the character and I like that he’s nervous, lacking the same experience as the other characters.  And the moment where he finds out that Superman can move at super speeds also was golden.

2. Deadshot (Suicide Squad)

Will Smith is always awesome and does a great job with action roles.  He carries a lot of weight in this film and it gives Deadshot the spotlight he deserves.  Some of the most memorable moments of the film revolve around Deadshot’s relationship another character.  It’s no wonder that Deadshot is known as one of the world’s most deadly assassins.

 1. Antiope (Wonder Woman)

If there’s a number one on this list it’s definitely Antiope.  She’s just straight up awesome.  She’s the badass general of the Amazons that trains Diana to be the warrior she is today.  In terms of strength and skill, she has tons and tons of it.  If there was one character who stood out as far as Diana or even more so, it is her.  Too bad she died but hopefully the DCEU can fit her into another film or two more.  She was played by Robin Wright. With her sexy self.
