Top 20 DC Extended Universe Moments

 1. Superman’s First Flight

Man of Steel is one of those reboots that just brings a humanity to a character that’s not human.  The entire movie is about Clark’s place in the world, whether he’s a hero or no one at all.  But when he finally dawns the suit and accepts being the hero he believes the world needs, the moments just gold.  And it is further built when Clark flies for the first time.  But its the cinematic flare of the sequence and Hans Zimmer’s powerful score that makes this such a memorable scene.  Not to mention the shot makes flying look completely badass.

2. Wonder Woman in the No Man’s Land

The team reaches the front in Belgium. Diana goes alone through No Man’s Land and captures the enemy trench.  It’s an awesome scene where we get a slow shot of her before she charges dodging gunfire and bombs and ultimately pushes her way through a hail of gunfire using a shield.

Film: Wonder Woman (2017)

3. Superman vs. Zod

A lot of Marvel fans hated this battle but this is one of the best superhero fights in cinema.  Two god-like beings battle for the fate of the planet, one fighting to protect the people and the other obsessed with destroying them.  The level of destruction is something we’ve never seen before and it’s just awesome.  We’ve watched this level of destruction in the comics and in the cartoons but it’s great seeing it on the big screen.

Film: Man of Steel (2013)

4. Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and Flash vs. Superman

What would happen if the world’s most powerful man was brought back from the dead with no memory of himself?  A great sequence that shows how badass Superman is unrestrained.  Batman attempts to revive Superman but unfortunately, after Cyborg unintentionally attacks him, he sees them all as enemies.  One of the best parts of the fight is when Flash joins in only to realize that Superman is faster than he looks.

Film: Justice League (2017)

5. Street Fight

This is the first sequence we actually see the group of supervillains working together as a bunch of Enchantress’ monsters rush them.  It’s an awesome fight with a lot of gunfire and badassery.  The two best highlights are Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn swinging her bat with abandon as well as Will Smith’s Deadshot badass stand where he just mows these guys down to show why he is called Deadshot.

Film: Suicide Squad (2016)

6. Batman vs Superman

No matter what people say, this movie was great.  And one of the reasons is the fight between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel.  All of the tension building between these two just explodes into a dark, gritty fight as Batman uses the Kryptonite to level the playing field.  It’s brutal with Superman having to deal with his vulnerability as he gets pummeled by Batman.  Some find the ending of the fight to be corny, but I think it was a great way of tying these two together.

Film: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

7. Batman Street Chase

Everyone loves the Batmobile but we’ve never really gotten a chance to see it in action on film (except for some great stuff in The Dark Knight Trilogy).  Here, we see what a fully weaponized Batmobile can do with plenty of explosions and collateral damage.  For fans of Batman: Arkham Knight, this is a blessing as it kind of sucked that we finally get to have the Batmobile only to carefully stun bad guys by bouncing them off of the hull rather than flatten them.

Film: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

8. Batman Warehouse Fight

Probably one of Batman’s best fight scenes we see the Dark Knight get down and dirty.  Batman is kicking ass and getting his ass kicked trying to prevent the death of Superman’s mother, Martha, while the Man of Steel goes to confront Lex Luthor.  It’s a great scene that shows how brutal Batman can be but also shows that the bad guys aren’t the typical pushovers who can be knocked out with one hit.  And did I forget to mention, people die.

Film: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

9. Bank Heist

Never really got a chance to see a superhero deal with a bank heist (well, aside from Hancock), so it was great seeing Wonder Woman dealing with it.  Although short, it was great to see her tossing these guys like ragdolls.  But the best part is when the lead guy pulls out a machine gun and fires at the civilians.  Wonder Woman uses her quick speed and reflexes to deflect the bullets.  Great scene cinematic wise and really entertaining.

Film: Justice League (2017)

10. Smallville Fight

Just as impressive as the Metropolis fight, Superman gets into a brawl with the criminal Kryptonians Faora and Non.  Unfortunately, the fight nearly destroys Smallville.  Fortunately for us, there’s lots of collateral damage involved.  And even this moment with Faora ruthlessly mows down a group of soldiers.

Film: Man of Steel (2013)

11. Veld Village Battle

We’ve seen Batman take on a group of human bad guys, and this time around we’re following Wonder Woman.  The Allied Forces have just stormed the enemy trench thanks to Diana.  Next Diana and the crew attack the enemy soldiers controlling the village of Veld. She has an awesome fight with some soldiers before letting loose her Lasso of Truth.  Great action scene.

Film: Wonder Woman (2017)

12.  Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday

Lex Luthor has just resurrected a dead Zod who’s transformed into the deadly creature Doomsday and he has no qualms about fucking shit up.  It’s up to the newly allied Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman to stop the juggernaut. Easily one of the best superhero fights with plenty of action and a ton of destruction.  It’s a great battle that ultimately leads up to the Man of Steel’s death.

Film: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

13. City Under Occupation

During the events of the Kryptonian machine destroying Metropolis and Superman and Zod’s fight, Bruce Wayne is in his car making his way through the destruction trying to make his way through the city.  It’s a completely awesome action sequence filled with tension as Bruce navigates the destruction around him.

Film: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

14. Deadshot Shooting Scene

Deadshot is so efficient with a rifle that its almost supernatural.  After being offered a position in Task Force X, Deadshot shows how badass he is with a handgun.  He easily and efficiently proves his skill with a handgun by shooting all of the targets in the head several times in the same hole perfectly.  It’s great as the scene shows how efficient he is as a hitman.

Film: Suicide Squad

15. Amazons vs. Steppenwolf

The Mother Boxes have been activated and someone has definitely heeded the call.  One of Darkseid’s generals, Steppenwolf, descends with an army of Parademons to wreak havoc.  The Amazons give an all out offensive to keep the Mother Box away from him but Steppenwolf proves himself to quite the adversary killing a crap ton of Amazons before capturing the Mother Box.  It’s a great fight that shows how powerful Steppenwolf is and how efficient the Amazons are.

Film: Justice League

16. Atlanteans vs. Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf again has descended into the heart of Atlantis to retrieve the Mother Box kept there.  It’s a great underwater battle with Aquaman “swimming” into the fray showing just how awesome an undersea battle can be.  Hell, we even get a great moment with Mera doing some water magic.

Film: Justice League (2017)

17. Clark Kent meets Bruce Wayne meets Lex Luthor

We finally get to see a conversation between three of the most influential male characters in the DC Extended Universe.  There’s a intense conversation between Bruce and Clark about the ethics of the Dark Knight and the morality of the Man of Steel.  Each character has their stance and you can definitely see the tension.  Which is all the more better when Lex shows up to greet both.

18. Superman Kills Zod

Superman never kills.  Because killing would come so easy to him.  He’s basically a god and there are very few who can challenge a god.  However, the boy in blue snaps the neck of his last connection to his race and homeworld, Krypton, when Zod decides to be a dick and try to incinerate a nearby family with his heat blast.

Film: Man of Steel (2013)

19. Wonder Woman vs. Ares

Diana’s sole purpose for leaving her home was to defeat Ares and bring peace to the world of man.  After defeating General Erich Ludendorff (who she thought was Ares), the real Ares shows up and a badass fight ensues.  It’s great seeing how strong and capable the Greek god of war is, and how he taunts Diana.  The battle itself is epic as hell and it truly reaches its height when Steve Trevor sacrifices his life to detonate the poisonous gas, which awakens the power in Diana necessary to destroy Ares.

Film: Wonder Woman (2017)

20. Bar Scene

This is probably the best moment in the movie non-action wise.  When the truth comes out about Flag, Waller, and Enchantress, the squad members decide it’s time to abandon him.  The criminals go into a nearby bar and we get a very moving conversation between the characters.  Also, it’s the moment the criminals decide to do something right.  It’s a great, moving moment that shows a lot of character development.

Film: Suicide Squad (2016)
