Telltale Games Studio Shutdown

The final season has come for Telltale Games and the studio is shutting down.  It was announced that the bulk of the its staff would be laid off leaving only a handful of employees to finish its obligations to the company higher ups. Last year, the company laid off about a quarter of its total staff after it was revealed of overworking and bad management.

As of now, it’s unclear how the company will handle their current games (The Walking Dead: The Final Season) though we’re hopeful that another company will pick up where the studio left off since there are only two episodes left.  All future titles (The Wolf Among Us 2 and Stranger Things) have been canceled in the wake of the layoffs.  For fans loyal to the company they will be disappointed that the skeleton crew left behind will not be working on any of the Telltale projects.

Telltale Games is a video game company specializing in narrative adventure that came to prominence with the release of The Walking Dead in 2012.  The studio has since worked on Batman, Minecraft, Game of Thrones, and Guardians of the Galaxy among others.  The skeleton crew will be working on finishing the Minecraft: Story Mode for Netflix.
