Episode 5 – Order Up

Minecraft: Story Mode‘s Episode 5 – Order Up begins after the events of Episode 4 – A Block and a Hard Place where the New Order of the Stone are engaging a mob while treasure hunting.  They enter a hidden temple and discover its treasure (including some pretty sweet glowing flint and steel) but encountered a huge mob and are nearly killed but manage to escape.  The Ocelots appear, who go by the name Blaze Rods, and threaten the Order of the Stone for the enchanted flint and steel, however they leave unsuccessful.  Jesse goes to meet Ivor about the flint and steel.  Jesse and Petra find Lukas after a brief conversation about Aiden and the Ocel…Blaze Rods, before Ivor shows up and tells them about the old builders and the Eversource.  Jesse, Petra, and Lukas along with Ivor much to Petra’s dismay.  They make it to the temple and find a secret portal in which Jesse activates using the enchanted flint and steel.
However, Jesse looses the flint and steel to Aiden and the Blaze Rods.  After a brief fight, the Blaze Rods enter the portal with the Oder of the Stone in close pursuit.  The four reappear on a small island floating in the sky and make it to a nearby city called Sky City where there is no unauthorized building.  During a town meeting the Blaze Rods inform the Founder of the groups building a bridge to Sky City in which the group are branded criminals and detained minus Petra who escapes.  Jesse, Lukas, and Ivor convince the Captain of the Guard, Reginald, to release them so they can stop the Blaze Rods from stealing the Eversource.  Sneaking into the throne room, they are reunited with Petra thanks to Milo, they find the Founder’s secret passageway and discover the Eversource is a chicken.  The group are then confronted by the Founder, Aiden and the guards but Aiden turns on the Founder. In the resulting confrontation Aiden shoves Lukas, Jesse, and the Founder off of Sky City.  They fall into the Void but discover that there is land below.  The Founder, revealed to be Isa, enlist Jesse’s help to save Sky City and the two build a tower all the way to Sky City.  They make it to Sky City which is being overrun with monsters. Jesse goes to the throne room to confront Aiden.  After a lengthy battle Jesse defeats Aiden, and the citizens of Sky City escape to land below. The Blaze Rods are detained, the citizens begin to rebuild, and the Order of the Stone use the portal.  However, Episode 5 – Order Up ends with the Order of the Stone walking into a long corridor filled with portals.

The Verdict: In the end, Episode 5 – Order Up is a pretty good episode telling a good story outside of the Witherstorm threat.  It does introduce some cool characters (especially Isa who is completely badass) and an interesting setting (Sky City is actually a pretty cool city).  Episode 5 – Order Up gets 3 out of 5.
