Welcome to another great top 10 list. We’re going back to the comics and taking a look at the top 10 Dark Horse Comics characters.
1. Hellboy
A well-meaning demon whose true name is Anung Un Rama, Hellboy was summoned from Hell to Earth as an infant demon on December 23, 1944 by Nazi occultists. He was discovered by the Allied Forces; amongst them, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, who formed the United States Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). Although a bit gruff, he shows none of the malevolence thought to be intrinsic to demons, and has a strong sense of humor. Hellboy works for the BPRD, an international non-governmental agency, and himself against dark forces including Nazis and Baba Yaga.
2. Buffy Summers
Buffy Summers is “the Slayer”, one in a long line of young women chosen by fate to battle evil forces. This mystical calling endows her with powers that dramatically increase physical strength, endurance, agility, accelerated healing, intuition, and a limited degree of clairvoyance, usually in the form of prophetic dreams. She has returned from death twice and is known as a reluctant hero who wants to live a normal life. However, she learns to embrace her destiny as the vampire slayer.
3. Lara Croft
Lara Croft is a highly intelligent, athletic, and beautiful English archaeologist-adventurer who ventures into ancient, hazardous tombs and ruins around the world.
4. Master Chief
The Master Chief is a towering and faceless biochemically and cybernetically-enhanced supersoldier, raised and trained from an early age to be a weapon; he is almost never seen without his green-colored armor and helmet. He is commonly referred to by his naval rank, rather than his given birth-name or serial-designation.
5. Elizabeth Sherman
A member of the B.P.R.D. who has a fire living inside of her. Mastery of this fire as a weapon is her specialty.
6. Qui-Gon Jinn
He is a Jedi Master and mentor of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unlike other, more conservative Jedi, he values living in the moment as the best way to embrace the Force. Jinn is not a member of the Jedi Council, despite being among the wisest and most powerful of the Jedi.
7. Predator
The Predators are depicted as large, sapient and sentient humanoid creatures who possess advanced technology, such as active camouflage, directed-energy weapons, and interstellar travel.
8. X
X is a vigilante based out of Arcadia. His blood has regenerative powers that allow him to heal from all wounds. His blood will also learn from each wound and heal faster next time he is injured in the same way.
9. Ghost
Someone in the corrupt metropolis of Arcadia had her killed, but Elisa Cameron rose as Ghost, a beautiful but lethal specter intent on unraveling the mystery of her demise…and escorting those responsible to the other side.
10. Abe Sapien
A psychic, amphibious humanoid.
