Sony announced that it was working on adapting some of its biggest video game franchises into television shows. One of the series is God of War, which will be developed by Amazon. Also, side it is Gran Turismo, which hasn’t had a streaming service confirmed, and Horizon: Zero Dawn, who will be developed by Netflix.
God of War follows the Spartan warrior, Kratos, and his path of vengeance due to the machinations of the god of war Ares. The God of War series started in 2005 with its main entries being God of War (2005), God of War II (2007), God of War III (2010), God of War: Ascension (2013), God of War (2018), and God of War Ragnarök, which will be released this year. Along with the main series, there have been multiple side games including Betrayal, Chains of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta.
But these aren’t the only projects Sony has in the works. They’ve already confirmed adaptations of The Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima. There was also the Uncharted movie which was recently released. There hasn’t been a released date or window for any of the shows announced.
It isn’t clear of what story the series will tell whether it be an adaptation of the story, a retelling of the story, or a continuation of the story. There has yet to be any confirmations of casting.
