This poll is dedicated to fictional warrior races.  Was watching Game of Thrones (Season 1) and while watching the Dothraki I thought “Hey, wouldn’t it be great if I did a poll with them in it”.  The Dothraki are a nomadic horse-mounted warriors in Essos (set in the world of A Song of Fire and Ice/Game of Thrones) who roam the Dothraki Sea, always on the move looking for new pasture lands and new targets for plundering.

Almost immediately I thought of the Aiel from the Wheel of Time series.  The Aiel are a race of people who live between the “wetlanders” in the Westlands and the Sharans in the east, in a desert which the Aiel call the Three-fold Land and which everyone else calls the Aiel Waste. They have earned a reputation as exceptionally skilled warriors.

It took me a while but I finally picked two other warrior races to add to the mix.  The first are the Amazons from DC Comics and the other are the Spartans from 300.  DC’s Amazons are a race of warrior women who live on Paradise Island (also known as Themyscira), an isolated location in the middle of the ocean where they are hidden from Man’s World (rest of the world). As long as Amazons remain on Themyscira they do not age.

And now we’re looking at the Spartans from Frank Miller’s 300.  The Spartans are warriors and soldiers of the country of Sparta.  At the height of their society Spartans were considered to be the most powerful warriors due to the hard life style, weaponry, and techniques.
