Werewolves, or lycanthrope, are mythological humans with the ability to shapeshift into wolf or hybrid wolf-like creatures either purposely or under a curse. This list was inspired by the List of Vampire Traits in Folklore and Fiction on Wikipedia, albeit a few modifications.

- Lunar Cycle – Are the werewolf’s abilities limited to the lunar cycle? The farthest he/she is from a full moon the more human he/she is.

- Moon – Does the moon play a prominent role in the setting?
- Feral Mind – When a person transforms do they retain their humanity or are they completely bestial?
- Supernatural Creatures – Are there other supernatural creatures such as Vampires or witches? The show Bitten is mainly focused on werewolves but does feature witches.

- Terms and Nicknames – In the Crimson City series werewolves are known as “dogs”.
