New details have been popping up concerning the upcoming Captain Marvel movies including story details and casting.  This will be the first MCU female-led solo superhero film.  The film will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and the script will be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider).  I’m kind of worried about this because the Tomb Raider film wasn’t good.

The story will be set in the ’90s in a world post superheroes.  It will follow Air Force pilot Carol Danvers’ transformation into Captain Marvel, one of the universe’s most powerful heroes, when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.  The alien race, the Kree, will play a major part.

Bris Larson is playing the iconic hero, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.  Danvers will be dawning a green and black version of her traditional outfit and maybe will show an evolution of suit as well as the character.  Personally I think the green looks great.  Danvers is involved in an accident that infuses alien DNA with her own, giving her super strength, invulnerability, flight, and energy projection.

Samuel L. Jackson is returning as Nick Fury as well as Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson.  Also, villains Lee Pace’s Ronan the Accuser and Djimon Hounsou’s Korath the Pursuer.  Other cast members include Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Tente, McKenna Grace, Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson aka Mar-Vell, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Lashana Lynch and Ben Mendelsohn as the main villain.

Set to be released on March 8, 2019.
