Violet Grimm | Casting Choices

Who is Violet Grimm? Violet Grimm is an exiled fetish-witch superstar, strung out from spell abuse, psychic fallout and the dubious attention of her psychotic fans.  The main character of writer and illustrator Daniel Schaffer’s Dogwitch comic book series published by Sirius Entertainment between 2002-05.

She’s one of my favorite characters and I would love to see her come to the big screen (or possibly even the little screen).  Here is a list of four talented actresses who could potentially play the character.

Who Would Be a Good Cast for Violet Grimm?

Teresa Palmer

Palmer deserves to be on this list as she’s a great actress, especially considering her many nominations as best or supporting actress.  She’s played horror (Lights Out), romance (Warm Bodies), drama (Hacksaw Ridge), and even thrillers (Point Break) science fiction (I am Number Four) and taking on a supernatural character wouldn’t seem too far out of range.

Jane Levy

I like Levy and can appreciate her style of acting.  Violet Grimm is a fun and sexy character and I think Levy can easily adopt that personality and look.  She was awesome in Evil Dead (and sexy as hell) and terrific in Don’t Breathe.

Keira Knightley

Knightley has proven herself to be an extremely strong female lead thanks to her time in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, but she’s also been good with comedy and great timing with humor.  She’s definitely an A-lister with tons of nominations for Best Actress or Supporting Actress.

Mila Kunis

Like the other actresses on this list, Kunis is quite a diverse actress.  But perhaps the biggest factor that could propel her to the forefront is that she actually looks like Violet.  I think she can handle the sexy allure as well as the craziness of the character.
