Every series has to have their own top ten right? Not the best series but an awesome series nonetheless, the series follows the war between the supernatural beings, the vampires and Lycans (werewolves who can change at will).
The main focus of the series follows death dealer Selene as her actions have a direct effect on the war. Along her journey she gains allies as well as a bunch of enemies.
This post is of my favorite characters in the franchise. Some honorable mentions are Thomas (Charles Dance), Detective Sebastian (Michael Ealy), Lucian (Michael Sheen), and Raze (Kevin Grevioux).
10. Marcus Corvinus
Portrayed by: Tony Curran
Film: Underworld: Evolution (2006)
Marcus is the first true Vampire and one of the three sons of Helena and Alexander Corvinus. Marcus is the progenitor of the vampire species and after ingesting a bit of werewolf blood, becomes the bat-like being we see kicking butt and taking names. Now, he does somewhat comes off as an anti-hero in the beginning but it becomes apparent that he’s kind of a douchebag. However, as much of an asshole as he is (even killing his own father) he does care for his brother, William.

9. Marius
Portrayed by: Tobias Menzies
Film: Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)
A powerful Lycan leader following the Antigen purges. Marius is a bad guy through-and-through, and although is pretty flat in terms of personality he is a pretty badass villain. He’s responsible for “killing” Michael and taking his blood to empower himself. Hell, he nearly beats Selene to death.
8. Semira
Portrayed by: Lara Pulver
Film: Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)
A fiercely ambitious vampire and one of the leaders of the Eastern Coven. Like Kraven, Semira seeks power and doesn’t care who gets in her way. She makes the list because of her ambition. Yeah, she’s a cliche but how she weaves her web of deception takes plenty of skill. She’s responsible for killing Thomas but does get hers in the end.
7. Quint Lane
Portrayed by: Kris Holden-Ried
Film: Underworld: Awakening (2012)
The son of Dr. Jacob Lane, and an enhanced Lycan, sometimes called a “super-lycan”, who is larger and stronger and has the ability to rapidly heal and is seemingly immune to silver. Quint is badass because he’s probably the only character on this list who Selene couldn’t beat in combat. The guy is just a total death machine and he just mops the floor with her.
6. Viktor
Portrayed by: Bill Nighy
Film: Underworld (2003), Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)
Viktor is a Vampire Elder and a former Hungarian general and warlord born sometime in the 4th or early 5th century. The character who is responsible for war and everything in its aftermath. As much of a father figure as he is, Viktor is a self absorbed asshole who uses his bigotry to maintain his power. He killed Sonja which started the war, adopted Selene after killing her family, and was killed by Selene in turn. Bill Nighy gave a brilliant performance as the vampire tyrant.
5. Sonja

Film: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)
Sonja is the daughter of the vampire elder Viktor. Yeah, yeah. I know everyone hates Sonja, stating that she’s a poor replacement for Selene. However, Sonja is a character that’s as badass as Selene but with much more depth. Her romance to Lucian is a strong part of the origins of the war and it’s through her death that the war starts. Sonja is special as she’s a vampire that’s not a douchebag much like the other vampire characters.

4. Lena
Portrayed by: Clementine Nicholson
Film: Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)
One of the daughters of the coven’s leader, Vidar, she is a vampire warrior from Nordic Coven. Lena is as cool as she is weird. Something about those eyes that’s enchanting. However, she proves herself as a capable warrior taking on several Lycans with her sword and shield and her weird super speed abilities. She even saved Selene from the brink of death having been defeated by Marius. Hope to see more of her character in the next installment.
3. David
Portrayed by: Theo James
Film: Underworld: Awakening (2012), Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)
He is the son of Thomas, leader of the Western Coven and Amelia, the Vampire Elder. Now, when David was introduced, everyone saw him as a poor replacement for Michael. However, in Blood Wars his character is fleshed out more and he actually becomes well-rounded and actually a good match as Selene’s ally. We still want Michael back, but we’ve warmed up to David.
2. Michael Corvin

There’s never a better story than a regular guy who gets thrust into some otherworldly conflict and finding out something extraordinary about yourself. Well, that happened to Michael. Learning that he is the last of an ancient lineage, Michael becomes the first vampire/Lycan hybrid. He’s stronger and faster than any vampire or Lycan. Not to mention he is the first and only guy to melt Selene’s heart and even father’s her a child called Eve. It’s a travesty that the character has returned since Evolution (sure he had cameos in Awakening and Blood Wars but it’s truly not the same).

Selene is a vampire who works as a Death Dealer, killing the Lycans (werewolves) who slaughtered her family. Selene is probably the hottest and most badass vampire in film history. But what makes her great is how she develops as a character. Initially she starts off with little to her personality but every movie fleshes out a newer aspect to her character. Beckinsale portrays the character brilliantly and it’s no wonder she’s become so popular a character.
