Batman: The Telltale Series

Episode 3 – New World Order

Following the events of Episode 2 – Children of Arkham, Episode 3 – New World Order opens with Bruce and Selina visiting Harvey in the hospital but Selina leaves before seeing him.  Despite his injuries Harvey decides to give his acceptance speech as he is elected mayor by default after the death of Hamilton Hill.  After a lengthy conversation Bruce leaves after seeing the bat signal in the sky.  Batman goes to meet Gordon on the roof of the GCPD and the two call a truce.  Gordon enlist Batman’s due to the lack of manpower of the police to help as back up to aid Montoya who has gone rogue in order to clear her name and to protect Dent who’s gone to give his acceptance speech.

In order to find out how the Children of Arkham have managed to spy on the police, Bruce goes to Wayne Tower for Lucius to decrypt information to learn that the group have hacked Wayne Tech.  Bruce is forced to resign as CEO of Wayne Enterprises and Cobblepot takes over as CEO.  It is kind of bitter sweet considering how Wayne Enterprise was built on land stolen from the Cobblepots.  Bruce goes to warn Dent about Wayne Tech being compromised who shows signs of mental instability.

After reading the paper and learning Vale had interviewed the Children of Arkham’s leader Batman goes to Cobblepot Park to meet with Vale.  She reluctantly tips him off to her meeting point with the leader of the Children of Arkham, the Sky Train Depot. Upon investigation Batman discovers that the Children of Arkham are planning to infect hundreds of innocent people with the now weaponize chemical used on Montoya and Dent.  When the Children of Arkham arrive it is revealed that Catwoman  is working with the group.  After she is threatened Batman is forced to reveal himself and is attacked.  Selina saves him after he is nearly killed by the leader although he manages to stop the group’s plans.  They go back to Selina’s apartment and he spends the night.  The next morning Harvey shows up and, after showing his mental instability, attacks the two but they fend him off.

Bruce goes to the meeting to give his resignation speech and he and Cobblepot have words.  After Bruce’s statement he is infected with the chemicals by Vicki Vale who reveals herself to be Lady Arkham, leader of the Children of Arkham.  Despite his efforts the episode ends with Vale enticing Bruce to kill Cobblepot for the criminal that he is as he charges Cobblepot.

The Verdict:  Things are just crazy in Episode 3 – New World Order, Bruce Wayne’s world has officially been turned upside down.  Not only does he lose his reputation but also Cobblepot takes over as CEO of his company.  What plans does he have for the company and how will he shape Gotham?  Bruce and Selina have finally established their relationship and where will it go? Dent’s instability threatens to consume him and everyone around him.  Could this be the beginning of the crime boss Two-Face (who’re we kidding, of course it is)?  And the mysterious Lady Arkham has finally surfaced as Vicki Vale.  What does she plan to do with Bruce and Gotham?  Things definitely are escalating for Bruce.  Episode 3 – New World Order gets 3 out of 5.
